Colonial Elements in the Poetry of Akbar Ellah-Abadi۔
Abstract
Akbar Ellah Abadi is known for his humorous poetry in Urdu. He described the problems of the colonies and the people of the subcontinent in his poetry. He wrote on colonialism during the period when political leaders and writers of the subcontinent were loyal to the British. Akbar knew that the British had an important role to play in the making of time, yet Akbar did not back down from his position. His narrative is that of a courageous person. Akbar described the culture of his time in poetry and taught the nation to refrain from slavery to the British.
