Abstract

Muhammad Hassan Askary has enriched the landscape of Urdu criticism with his unique approach to critical thinking. His mode of criticism contains a diversity of historical, and philosophical depths of world literature, with theological and political insights. Human history and political ideologies keep fascinating him. He views literary movements with analytical wisdom. He discussed chronological distinctions of Greek, Roman medieval, and renaissance and Modern era in Perspective of literary and ideological evolutions. Islamic Sufi sentiment with metaphysical undertones has been dominant in his critical pursuits, cross currents of world literature are constantly present in his criticism, beyond the geographical boundaries. Theological and cultural aspects shaped his thinking into reasoning inspired by the principles of Islam.
