Abstract

Ashfaq Ahmed has a prominent position among the personalities who raised the edifice of Urdu literature. Whose names, works, literature, legends and dramas are known to all people. He needs no introduction in the world of academic and literary circles and media. He is considered a Sufi sage because of Talqin Shah, Zawiya and Sufi legends and plays. But at the same time, Ashfaq Ahmed's writings are also accused of supporting the viewpoint of the dominant time. However, in this paper, all the personal characteristics and contradictions of Ashfaq Ahmed have been explained on the basis of evidence. So that it becomes clear how Ashfaq Ahmed lived and experienced the life of a common man. But in his evolutionary journey he learned a lot which is reflected in his writings. While personal contradictions exist in every human being, it is admirable for them to identify their own flaws.
