Abstract

Akbar Ilahabadi is a famous poet of the colonial era. His poetic style is intellectual and artistic. He gave humorous style to Urdu Literature. Due to his poetry, many English words added in Urdu poetry. In this way, he succeeded in opening a new linguistic angle in Urdu literature. He also opposed imitation. He frankly used English words in his poetry because Urdu languages has a natural ability to adopt and absorb words of a non-Urdu language.
