Abstract

Nasir Kazmi is a great and well-known poet of Urdu Ghazal. He broadened the canvas of Urdu Ghazal at the ascension of Urdu Nazm. There is too much diversity in his topics. He has not only described the topics of modern times and the conflicts of the current time but also the historical events of partition, the economic condition of Pakistan, the grief of migration, the sorrow of loneliness, memories of the past, and the situation of human life and problems of that era. Nasir is the poet of imagery, the fantasy of nature, personification, and monologue. He created landscapes and created new and different characters also. He used the flashback technique throughout his whole poetry, especially in the Pehli Barish. He reflects historical consciousness in his poetry. This research paper specifically focuses on the historical consciousness prevalent in Nasir Kazmi’s Ghazal.
