TRANSLATIONS OF THE HOLY QUR'AN IN URDU: TRADITION AND SIGNIFICANCE

Abstract

Translation of one language into another is a significant work of depth and richness for a language. Without translations all language of any country deprives itself from unique ideas, progressive thoughts and way of civilization and cultural traditions of other countries. From the creation of Hazrat Adam (علیہ السلام) to date, work of translation continued with different way and sources. In all types of translations, religious translations, especially the translation of the Holy Quran got great importance. Tradition of the Holy Quran translation in Urdu language and its importance has been presented in this article for basic information related to this topic.
