Abstract

The Almighty Allah honored the Prophet Muhammad SAW and distinguished him with several praiseworthy attributes that bear distinctive associations. Each of the salutations of the Prophet SAW fulfilled its meaning in his character and behavior. The praising of Hazrat Muhammad (SAAW) is an honor for Muslim poets. Terminologically this act is called Na’at. The origin of this art started in Arabia but the genre Na’at does exist it is called ‘madạḥ’ in Arabic poetry. The Hazrat Muhammad has been praised in all languages of the world by Muslim poets i.e. Arabic, Persian, Turkish, English, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtu, Seraiki, and many more. Being a prophet, a human being, and a leader, every single moment of a prophet’s life is highly valuable and quite appreciable. Quran appreciates the appraisal of Allah’s beloved Prophet SAW it is also said in the Quran that Allah and His Angles say Darood-o-Salam or Salawat (salutation)on Muhammad SAW. It is foremost the duty of every Muslim to pay regard and send obligations to Prophet SAW. the history of Urdu naat poetry is as old as Urdu poetry itself. Since almost every Urdu poet has composed at least a few couplets in praise of the Prophet (PBUH), Though major poets of Urdu, such as Qulli Qutub Shah, Vali Dakani, Mirza Sauda, Mir Taqi Mir, Maumin, Karamat Ali Shaheedi, and Ghalib wrote couplets praising the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), it was not until the first half of the 19th century that Na’at in Urdu poetry became recognized and distinct poetical genre all by itself. Muzaffar Warsi one of the eminent poets of Pakistan has sent obligations in Na`at while using Quranic subjects and praiseworthy attributes. Whatever subject the Holy Quran discusses it uses an exceptional style in suitable words. Muzaffar Warsi used Quranic allusions, Quranic verses, Quranic metaphors, Quranic epithets, and Quranic descriptions. This article is an analysis of the naat poetry of renowned poet Muzaffar Warsi printed in the book, and it is concluded that his naat poetry has a different style and great contribution to this art.
